Four Steps Theory | 4 Steps in KP

In Four Step Theory, 1st Step is about Planet and its signification. 2nd step is about Star Lord of planet and its signification. 3rd step is about Sub Lord of planet and its result signifying capability and 4th step is about Star Lord of planet’s sub lord, which is taken as end result indicator. In short this theory advocates that a Planet gives result on the strength of itself, its star lord, sub lord and star lord of sub lord. This theory differs from Krishnamurti Paddhati (System) at one point. In KP sub lord is taken as end result indicator while in this theory Star Lord of sub lord is taken as end result indicator.

First Step

Rule 1:

(a) A planet becomes strong significator of that house where it is placed in house, if there are no other planets in the star of that planet. That planet will remain strong planet even if there are other planets in that house.

(b) In above case, that planet becomes strong significator of its owned house/s, provided there are no other planets in that house. Otherwise, it will be weak or secondary significator of that house.

(c) If there are other planets in the stars of a planet, it becomes weak or secondary significator of both the house it resides in and of the houses it owns.

(d) A planet becomes strong significator of that house where it is placed in house, if that planet is in its own star. That planet will remain strong planet even if there are other planets in that house.

(e) In above case, that planet becomes strong significator of its owned house/s, provided there are no other planets in that house. Otherwise, it will be weak or secondary significator of that house.

Second Step

Rule 2:

A planet gives the results indicated by its star lord. So the house occupied by this star lord is strongly signified, even if there are other planets in that house. That planet will become strong significator of house owned if the houses are vacant. Otherwise, it will be weak or secondary significator of that house.

Third Step

Rule 3:

Planet’s Sub Lord has capacity to give results. This Sub Lord becomes strong significator or secondary significator of house as per the rule-1.

Fourth Step

Rule 4:

Star Lord of Sub acts as indicator and decider of end result of particular event.

Rule 5:

Krishnamurthy has given importance to cusp of the house. So planet near to cusp (within orb of 030‐20') affect the strong signification of that cusp even if planet is having star in it, it will offer the cusp result strongly.

Rule 6:

While considering conjunction or aspect, consider this with an orb of 030‐20'. Aspect of planet is considered only on cusp with 030‐20' orb and not on house.

A planet signifies other planet if it is in conjunction with it. If a planet is strong, the conjuncted planet also becomes strong otherwise it is week. If a planet is on the cusp then it becomes a strong significator of that cusp.

Rule 7:

When Rahu / Ketu is the star lord of a planet / sub, then it gives results of conjunction / aspect / star lord / sign lord in ascending order.

Rahu or Ketu are strong as star Lords. As planet, Rahu or Ketu are strong in a house if no one is tenanting in their star. Else, they are weak. Rahu and Ketu represent Rashi Lord, star lord and Planets in Conjunction, and Planets aspecting them. If Rahu or Ketu are strong then the represented planets are also strong.

Rule 8:

The event will materialize only when Dasha, Bhukti and Antara jointly strongly signify main and supporting houses.

Rule 9:

If planet is totally negating the relative event's houses on step 3 – 4 then the Dasha will not fructify the matter. If planet is the Cuspal sub lord then the event will never happen.

Rule 10:

For transit, only two steps are considered. Sub Lord or Sub’s Star Lord is not considered.

For timing the event, check the transit of the Star Lord, Bhukti Lord, Antara Lord and also Sun, Moon and Ascendant

Tips-1:

For chart analysis, single out the planets who are in their own star. Also find out planets in whose star there is no other planet. Find out the significator of all planets through four step theory including conjunction, special signification through Rahu and Ketu and also planets which are on the cusp.

Tips-2:

Use strong significator, Leave weak significator. Weak Significators are not used even if they are linked to the houses under consideration.

Tips-3:

If the sub Lord of primary house is in the star that is not retrograde and signifies either primary house or supporting houses then than the answer is positive.

(4-Step Theory has been propounded by Sunil Gondhalekar)

Ruling Planets, a near-mathematical model of the phenomenon of Synchronicity in Astrology

------ ©️ Dr. Satya Prakash Choudhary
Ruling Planets is a very important concept, in fact one of the corner stones of KP that attracted me to test KP more. This concept is almost like a mathematical application of the phenomenon of Synchronicity. In my studies into the phenomenon of Synchronicity, this is the peak of a practical near-mathematical model of Synchronicity.

Simply put ruling planets are the planets which rule over the particular moment of judgement (in the case of horary/Prasna), birth (in the case of natal chart), or whatever the issue maybe. They are the strongest determinants of the moment. According to Krishnamurti they are:

Lagna star lord
Lagna lord
Moon star lord
Moon sign lord and
Weekday lord

Later his students also added the Lagna sublord and Moon sublord. In practice the ascendant sublord works very well. I use the Moon sublord as a contender only if it is already among the first six ruling planets, only to eliminate the weaker ones, if too many planets appear in the list of ruling planets. If Rahu or Ketu occupy a sign whose lord (ruler) owns another sign, and if that planet happens to be a ruling planet, the node should also be taken as a ruling planet.

These planets determine the outcome of anything. Let us look at the rationale of Ruling planets. Isn’t it a common experience even for a beginner that quite often when he sits to study a chart the prasna lagna is the same as the birth lagna of the client? Isn’t it even more common that the Prasna chart itself reflects accurately the current picture as well as the natal chart? This has indeed been noticed even by Western (tropical) astrologers who have come up with what they call the ‘Consultation chart’. The exact moment when an astrologer or even the client genuinely has the urge to look into a question is very important in Prasna. Why? Buddhi Karmaanusaarini. The mind follows the Karmas (see my article on Synchronicity for a fuller understanding).

Most astrologers will agree that in principle it is possible to predict based on the Consultation chart. But the dispute would arise about why only the above said planets are selected. The idea of selecting certain planets as the determinants based on some criteria is not really that new either. In my own studies I have come across this a couple of times. The best instance is that of sage Satyacharya’s ‘Jataka Satyachaareeyam’ also known as “Satya Jataka”. In Adhyaya 1, slokas 7 to 14, the sage gives the four determinants of any chart based on whose strength and disposition he judges the chart straightaway. A simplified version of the same is given here. I am not going into the details of the usage here. It should be pointed out that this wonderful book is the forerunner of the great Nadi classic Dhruva nadi. In fact the principles enunciated here along with the Nadiamshas forms the subject matter of a class of Nadi literature in the form of Dhruva and Satya Samhita Nadis. The determinants of any moment according to the sage are:

Birth lagna (ascendant) lord
Moon or lagna nakshatra lord (whichever is stronger)
Moon sign lord
Navamsa (D-9 or hindu ninth harmonic) lagna lord
Lord of the rashi (in the rashi chart) occupied by the Navamsa lagna lord
It will be seen that Krishnamurthi’s Ruling planets are quite similar. Instead of taking the nakshatra lord of either the lagna or moon based on whichever is stronger, he takes BOTH. He also takes both the Lagna lord and Moonsign lord. He has no place for the Navamsa lord, but introduces the Weekday lord. Let me hasten to add that the above comparision is MINE. Krishnamurthi himself doesn’t tell where he got the idea of Ruling planets from. But other astrologers who interacted with him, suggest that he got the idea from his researches on prenatal epoch, that certain ruling planets of the prenatal epoch, become ruling planets at the birth time, and also dominate the individual’s life. More on this in another article some other time. I have over the years slightly modified the version for myself. But I will first represent the RP faithfully as they are used by KP.

The significator, see KP: Order of Significators,  shows the source of an event. The matters - especially of the house or houses owned by it, serve as the source.
The significator gives the results of its Star Lord. So the Star Lord becomes the indicator of the matters of the house occupied and owned by it, and also of the house aspected by it.
The Sub Lord of the significator is the deciding factor regarding the matters of the Star Lord.
If the Sub Lord is harmonious to the matters indicated by the Star Lord, the significator gives favorable, desired, or expected results
If the Sub Lord is detrimental to the matters indicated by the Star Lord, the significator does not give favorable, desired, or expected results.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Consider the Houses for the respective subject matter shown in the above Table.
If the subject matter of the Houses shown in Column A are to be judged, then the subject matter of the Houses shown in Column B will become detrimental, and vice-versa.
Suppose Sun is the significator (in the Star of the occupant or owner) of 4, 11, and 12, and the Sub Lord of Sun is not connected with 4, 11, or 12 but IS connected with 10, 5, and 3, then Sun will not be in a position to give the desired or expected results of 4, 11, and 12.

4.  The significator gives during its Dasa, Bhukti, and Pratyantardasha, the results of its Star Lord, or

5.   The results of the Star Lord are experienced during the joint period (Dasa, Bhukti, Pratyantardasha) of the significator, its Star Lord, and its Sub Lord.

6.  The significator denotes the time when it will give the results of its Star Lord. The Sub Lord of the significator shows whether desired results or otherwise will be obtained.

7.   The significator becomes weak if its Star Lord is weak, and more so if its Sub Lord is also weak.

The Use of Sub-Sub Lord was not unknown to the KP Originators so its Nothing New discovered.
But it has to be used selectively. It must be avoided for Natal horoscopy as far as possible since the Sublord itself may be erroneous in Natal Charts so what to talk of Sub-Sub lords.
Then where must be SubSub lord used ?
1) It must be used for Birth Time rectifications (BTR) when we have to rectify a Chart. We use the Sub-Sub Lord to narrow down the Birth time to a minute or few seconds as necessary.
2) At times when we have to judge the results of two dashas this is helpful.
Example A Leo Nativity has Mars and Rahu Conjunct in his Chart. Mars at 6.19 Degrees Leo and Rahu at 6.41 degrees Leo. He is now asking you which dasha would be better for me ? Mars Mahadasha or Rahu mahadasha ? What will you reply ? Since Mars and Rahu both have same Star lord and SubLord. But if you notice the Sub-Sub Lords of both these planets you will find that Mars has SSL as Saturn while Rahu has SSL as Mercury. Naturally you must reply that Rahu mahadasha is going to be better for the simple reasons that in case of Rahu, Mercury as SSL will give results of 2 and 11 for the Native.

The matter is promised satisfies the following conditions:

The concerned Cuspal sub lord or its star lord or its sub lord is not retrograde. (Note: This is still a disputed rule and several versions of this are: (a) The retrograde state of a planet has no effect as retrograde is not really retrograde and it is only a virtual effect, (b) The retrograde planet (Cuspal sub lord) if deposited in the star of a planet in direct motion, the event will materialize after some obstacles and delay, (c) the planet (Cuspal sub lord) failed to offer the result when it is in a sub of a retrograde planet.
The primary Cuspal sub lord is the significators of any one of the required houses (For example, 2, 7, 11 for marriage).
The matter is not promised if:
Both star lord and sub lord of the primary Cuspal sub lord are connected to the negative houses (For example, 6, 10, 12 for marriage).
Verify also if Lagna Cuspal sub lord (success in one’s effort) and 11 th Cuspal sub lord (fulfillment of desire) signifies the houses related the question. This is a supportive indicator for the materialization of the query.

Star Lord Empty
PočaljiNaslov: Re: Star Lord   Star Lord EmptySub 12 Mar 2016 - 15:27

Vedic Astrology-Krishnamurti Paddhati

Krishnamurti Padhdati is one of the most accurate Paddhati in Vedic Astrology. Nakshatras are also called constellation or Stars. There are 27 lunar mansions or stars starting from 1St ashwini, 2nd Bharani, 3rd Krittika and so on with 27th known as Revati.

All planets works as per Star lord/Nakshatra lord so priority is given to star lord as it has the capacity to get the work done or not i.e. it has the deciding authority for any work. If we look further into details of Nakshatra or KrishnaMurti Padhdati System we will find that Nakshatra is working under its Sub Lord which even more power full than the given Nakshatra. So here we come to know that the most is Sub lord of Nakshatra Hence we will give Top Priority to Sub Lord of Nakshatra. Now at this stage we find that a planet is weakest among the three 2nd is Nakshatra and the strongest is Sub Lord of Nakshatra.

Hence under KRISHNAMURTI SYSTEM will find these few definitions & how this system works for finding results to a question asked by a person.

Here is how this system works:-

Definitions:-

Source Planet: – A Source Planet is that planet which is Sub Lord of the Bhava to be studied or for a question by the client
Star lord is Nakshatra of Source planet
Free planet: – free planet is planet in that there is no planet s situated in any of the 3 Nakshatras.
Conditions of source planet:-

Source planet is in its own Nakshatra.
Source planet is retrograde.
Source planet is free planet.
Results:-

If Source planet is a free planet than its can itself decide the question i.e. its placement from the question house & lagan has the capacity for final results e.g. if it is placed from the question house than it is treated as dead i.e. answer to query is- No. This is only because of placement only has finalist it fate.
If Source planet is (R) than look for its Star Lord & sub Lord of Star Lord —If Star Lord or Sub Lord is (R) than answer is again –No to question .
If Star lord & Sub Lord of Star Lord is not (R) than answer to asked is yes & work will get done only after source planet will cross that degree from where it’s got (R) after that day only
If source planet is not ( R) & not free planet than Make stellar equation
I. 1st Nakshatra Lord placed House No. 2nd Source planet placed house No., 3rd Nakshatra lord ownership house Nos, 4th source planet ownership house Nos

This equation is called promise to the question

II. Make another stellar to sub Lord of Source planet Called delivery.

This equation is called promise to the question

I. Make another stellar to sub Lord of Source planet Called delivery.

I. 1st Nak Lord of Sub lord of Source planet placement house No., 2nd sub Lord’s placement House No., 3dr Nak Lord’s of sub Lords ownership house nos. 4th sub Lord’s placement House No.
