This is an excellent system (Paddhati) of astrological predictions conceived and created by The Great Indian Astrology master late Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti. KP System is based on finer points of Indian and Western astrology and borrows important concepts from many branches of astrology. Regarded as most accurate system of present time, KP System of astrology is easy to learn and easy to apply. Contrary to classical Hindu astrology, KP system is systematic and very well defined.

Here are some major differences to Vedic astrology:
KP system gives importance to the Constellations / Stars / Nakshatras divisions of the Zodiac which is obviously the most desired for precision.
Further it divides each Constellation / Star / Nakshatra division into further 9 subdivisions called 'SUBS'. These sub divisions are not equal divisions, but are as per the Vimshottari Dashas Divisions System.
K.P. System uses K.P. Ayanamshas as opposed to Lahiri Ayanamshas mostly used in Vedic System. The difference between two is about 6 minutes (Kala).
This system uses Cusps that is house/ bhav beginnings like Western Systems, as opposed to Vedic System which uses House Centres i.e. Bhav Madhyas.
This system uses Placidus House system.
The planet in its dasha gives results as per its Nakshtra-Swami (Star-Lord) rather than the planet itself.
Hence Planet is represents the SOURCE, that Planet's Star-Lord represents the EFFECTS, RESULTS and that Planet's Sub gives idea of the FINAL DIRECTION of that result.
KP highly uses Ruling Planets methodology which says that the planets at the time of desire and fructifications are always same.
House characteristics are given more importance than planetary characteristics.
KP system discards few of the popular classical astrology principles like divisional charts and yogas.

Krishnamurthy Paddhati is known as KP astrology. It is based on Sub Theory. This is an excellent system propounded by late Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti. KP Jyotish comprises best of Indian and Western astrology and is regarded comparatively accurate. It has become popular worldwide very fast among astrologers due to its predictive capabilities, well defined simplified learning methodology, systematic approach and universal application.

Salient Feature of KP astrology:

KP astrology emphasizes on the need of astrological divisions of Zodiac into Signs, Signs into Nakshatra and Nakshatra into Sub for precision. In this system, Constellation / Star / Nakshatra has been divided into 9 unequal sub divisions by following Vimshottari Dasha Divisions pattern. Such division is called SUB.

K.P. Astrologers use K.P. Ayanamsha that differs from popular Lahiri Ayanamsha by about 6 minutes (Kala). They prefer Cusp (beginning of house/ bhava) like Western Astrologyers instead of Bhava / House. Bhava Madhya (used by vedic astrologers ) is not considered because Placidus House system is used in this System. KP Astrologers give more importance to House or Cusp significations in comparison to planetary significations and Karkattwa (chief significations). KP discards few of the popular conventional astrology principles like divisional charts and yogas.

Prof. Krishnamurthy was of opinion that a planet gives results in its Dasha as per its Nakshatra-Swami (Star Lord) rather than the planet itself. Hence he said that Planet is SOURCE, Star-Lord of that planet is EFFECTS / RESULTS and Sub of that Planet is indicative of FINAL DIRECTION of the result.

Introduction of concept of Ruling Planets is unique and wonderful. This concept is based on the idea of synchronization of microcosm with macrocosm. RP Principle says that the planets at the time of desire and fructifications are always same.

In Stellar Astrology (Nakshatra Paddhati Jyotish) a planet is supposed to give its results as per (a) Stellar Status and (b) Positional Status.

Stellar Status: Every planet by default has stellar status and offers results as per the significations of its Star Lord. For example, Venus is in Mars Nakshatra. As per stellar status, Venus will offer result of those houses of which Mars is significator.

Positional Status: A planet is said to have Positional Status when (a) the planet happens to be in its own Nakshatra e.g Mars is in Mrigshira (Mars ruled) Nakshatra and (b) no planets happen to be in the Nakshatra of that planet e.g. Mars will have Positional Status when no planet happens to be in the Nakshatra of Mars (Mrigshira, Chitra or Dhanishtha).

Significator: Significator is that who signifies. A planet is said to be significator of particular house when it has capability of offering result of that house. As thus, we may say that a planet becomes Significator of a house due to its Stellar Status and / or Positional Status. A planet may be significator of high, medium or low ord.
